Lake Pichola

 


True to its title, the City of Lakes- Udaipur is girdled by a number of lakes mesmerising its callers with its blue waters and scenic views. One similar artificial lake that sits right in the middle of Udaipur megacity is Lake Pichola, erected in the time of 1362 announcement. 

 Named after the near vill Picholi, Lake Pichola is one of the most notorious sightseer lodestones in Udaipur. adjoined by islets, palaces, tabernacles, palaces, ghats and caffs, Lake Pichola  offers commodity for everyone. The alluring views of daylight and evening from thelake is  commodity that shouldn't be missed by anyone visiting the lake. With confines of 3 long hauls in length, 2 long hauls in range and a depth of 30 bases, Lake Picholahas four main islets videlicet Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir and Arsi Vilas. 

 Jag Niwas is home to Lake Palace which is now converted into a heritage hostel while Jag Mandir  is home to the notorious Lake Garden Palace. Mohan Mandir served as the place from where the king used to witness the Gangaur jubilee festivity held anually. 

Once an security depot, Arsi Vilas has a small beautiful palace which was erected by one of the Maharanas of Udaipur to relax while enjoying the evening on the lake. A sanctuary conforming of a number of catcalls similar as tufted ducks, gluttons, coots, egrets, terns, kingfishersetc. is also erected then
